Online applications for the 2026 Academic Year Postdoctoral Researcher Mini-Project Program are scheduled to open on July 27, 2026. The application deadline is August 14, 2026 (Friday). Applicants are advised to download the required application forms and prepare all supporting documents in advance to ensure timely completion of the online application during the application period.

Applications are governed by the National Tsing Hua University Research Talent Resource Center Implementation Guidelines for the Postdoctoral Researcher Mini-Project Program (see attached). Applications are accepted once each academic year.

Eligibility:
Postdoctoral researchers currently employed at National Tsing Hua University.

Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit a recommendation letter from their faculty advisor. Each postdoctoral researcher may apply for only one Mini-Project Program per academic year. Applications that do not comply with the regulations will not be accepted.

Project Scope:
This program aims to cultivate the independent research capability of postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should propose a small-scale research project based on their existing research achievements or academic expertise, with an emphasis on innovation or interdisciplinary development potential. Throughout the project planning, research design, and implementation process, applicants are expected to demonstrate independent planning and research leadership.

Funding Period:
Projects will commence on October 1, 2026. Applicants may propose a project duration of 6 to 10 months, according to the research objectives and implementation needs. The approved project period will be determined based on the review results.

Funding Amount:
The maximum funding for each project is NT$150,000. The final funding amount will be determined based on the review results.

Budget Guidelines:
(1)Part-Time Research Personnel Costs
Applicants may decide whether to include this item based on actual research needs. The maximum amount is NT$5,000 per month.
(2)Eligible Research Expenses
Eligible expenses include consumable supplies, chemicals, fabrication fees, commissioned testing fees, and other research-related expenses.
(3) Overseas Travel Expenses
International travel expenses may be budgeted no more than once per year. Applicants are eligible for reimbursement only when presenting a paper at an international conference and providing an official letter of paper acceptance. The maximum subsidy is NT$20,000 for travel within Asia, NT$30,000 for travel to the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand, and NT$40,000 for travel to Europe and other regions.
(4) Equipment Costs
Equipment purchases are not eligible under this program. Equipment refers to instruments or equipment with a unit price of NT$10,000 or above and an expected service life of two years or longer.

Applicants who are currently receiving funding under the Research Talent Resource Center's Incentive Salary Program or Mini-Project Program must additionally submit a research progress report for the previous award year as part of their application.

As a general rule, the recommendation letter should be uploaded by the applicant through the online application system. If the faculty advisor prefers not to have the recommendation letter uploaded by the applicant, the advisor may send it directly to the Research Talent Resource Center via email at jytai@mx.nthu.edu.tw before the application deadline. Please indicate the applicant's name in the email to facilitate the review process.

For approved projects, the awarded funding will be delegated to the applicant for independent management in accordance with the University's regulations. Recipients will also be responsible for processing all expense reimbursements through the University's accounting system, with the goal of strengthening their ability to independently manage research projects.
