Advisor-Matching Incentive Salary

To encourage postdoctoral researchers with strong research potential to continuously advance their academic performance and to strengthen the competitiveness of the University's research talent, the Center has established a "Competitive Incentive Salary" program. Through a competitive selection mechanism, outstanding postdoctoral researchers receive additional salary support to enhance their research momentum and academic development potential.

This program operates on a "merit-based selection" principle. In addition to serving as a recognition measure for outstanding research talent, it also provides an opportunity for postdoctoral researchers who do not receive additional salary support from their advisor to apply for a subsidy, enabling them to continue their research development through an institutionalized selection process. Recipients are awarded the title of "NTHU Postdoctoral Research Scholar" to reinforce the positive development of the overall research environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Doctoral-level researchers who do not receive additional salary support from their advisor.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong research performance or research outcomes with development potential.
  • Applicants must submit their application within the deadline announced by the Center.

Subsidy Principles

  • The Center's Review Committee will evaluate applicants based on their research potential and academic performance; approved applicants will receive an incentive salary supplement.
  • The subsidy is NT$10,000 per person per month.
  • The subsidy period is granted in accordance with the actual appointment term of the postdoctoral researcher.
  • The incentive salary award period is a maximum of one year; reapplication and re-evaluation are required upon expiration.
  • The annual quota is in principle 10 recipients; the actual number is subject to review results.

Application Period

  • Application dates and procedures will be announced by the Research Talent Resource Center.
Competitive Incentive Salary

To encourage advisors to actively participate in research talent development and to enhance the salary competitiveness of postdoctoral researchers, the Center has established an "Advisor-Matched Incentive Salary" program. Through a dual-support mechanism involving both the University and the advisor, additional supplements are provided on top of the existing salary to strengthen postdoctoral researchers' retention incentives and research stability.

This program adopts a "co-investment in research talent" support model, combining resources from advisors and the University to improve the overall compensation of postdoctoral researchers and encourage outstanding research talent to sustain their commitment to research through an institutionalized mechanism. Recipients are awarded the title of "NTHU Postdoctoral Research Scholar" to foster a positive cycle within the academic environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The advisor must be willing to provide the doctoral-level researcher with at least NT$10,000 in additional monthly salary support.
  • The advisor must confirm that the funding source for the matched additional salary can cover the relevant expenses; if the funds cannot be reimbursed at a later stage, the application eligibility will be revoked.
  • Applicants must submit their application within the deadline announced by the Center.

Subsidy Principles

  • The Center's Review Committee will evaluate applicants based on their research potential and academic performance; approved applicants will receive an incentive salary supplement accordingly.
  • The subsidy is capped at NT$20,000 per person per month.
  • The subsidy period is granted in accordance with the actual appointment term of the postdoctoral researcher.
  • The incentive salary award period is a maximum of one year; reapplication and re-evaluation are required upon expiration.
  • The annual quota is in principle 20 recipients; the actual number is subject to review results.

Ineligibility

  • "Research Scholars" who are serving as principal investigators on NSTC research projects are not eligible to apply for this type of incentive salary.

Application Period

  • Application dates and procedures will be announced by the Research Talent Resource Center.
